The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission’s recently acquired Voice of America Game Lands, a 2,800+-acre tract in Beaufort County that harbors the largest breeding populations of Henslow’s sparrow in the Southeast. John Carpenter, Wildlife Diversity Biologist with NCWRC, will discuss the Commission’s efforts to protect and maintain breeding habitat for this uncommon and famously inconspicuous grassland-dependent sparrow and other species.
