Performance Measure 8.2 Guidance for Forest Management Plans

The Standards of Sustainability state that all management activities “shall be conducted in compliance with the landowners objectives and to maintain the potential of the property to produce forest products and other benefits sustainably.”

The forest management plan should include a statement similar to the following:

The landowner and/or the landowner’s agent will monitor all management activities to ensure that they align with the landowner’s objectives for the property, maintain the property’s ability to produce forest products and other benefits, and comply with the terms of the management service contract.
