The Green Growth Toolbox was developed by the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and is a non-regulatory tool that communicates recommendations about conserving priority wildlife habitats that are declining, through land use planning methods. The goal of the Green Growth Toolbox is to keep species from becoming endangered. The Toolbox provides information on conservation development incentives and how to remove regulatory barriers to better resource conservation. This type of proactive planning secures benefits for our communities, the future of our wildlife and economy, helps to protect working farms and forests, and helps to ensure that development permit requirements are met ahead of time.
The workshop, which will be held in Mooresville, consists of interactive presentations, training on the Natural Heritage Program Data Explorer online mapping tool, and a hands-on exercise. Three credit hours are available for AICP, NCBLA and others as self-reporting.
