Aldo Leopold Event

Enjoy a day of celebrating Aldo Leopold, the father of wildlife conservation. Throughout the day, there will be fun activities that teach people about their connections to the land, such as a Dutch oven cooking demonstration, films, Sand County Almanac readings, building Leopold benches, nature hikes, birding walks, tours of the historic mill, environmental and conservation groups on display, unnatural trails for the kids, flat birds, and much more. Come out and spend some time with Leopold “the Professor,” who had one main objective as an educator: “To teach the student to see the land, to understand what he sees, and to enjoy what he understands.”
