Meet with a Park Ranger to learn more about invasive species in Pilot Mountain State Park. We will explore how invasive species arrive, their impact on native communities, and what is being done to control these species.  Meet at Corridor Lot - Hauser Road Parking Area - North River Section.

Meet with a park ranger at the TRACK Trail located near the restroom for a short walk through recently burned areas of Pilot Mountain State Park.  Come learn why we perform prescribed fires at Pilot Mountain, and see firsthand effects of fire on this mountainous landscape.

Meet at the Ivey Gut parking lot and come prepared for a moderate hike through an early succession pine forest. You will be able to explore some of the remaining tar kilns along the way. Come dressed for the weather with appropriate footwear.
