Join Ornithologist Susan Campbell Wednesday mornings at Weymouth Woods for a rare opportunity to see Hummingbirds up close. Susan Campbell is one of the few individuals worldwide who are licensed to handle Hummingbirds. This program is weather permitting. Call the park office prior to the event to confirm that banding is taking place.
This is the perfect introductory class for beginners. Topics include casting theory, mechanics and practice techniques. Experienced instructors allow you to learn at your own pace as they teach the overhead cast, roll cast, and the art of false casting. All equipment and materials are provided. Bring a lunch. Ages 12 and up.
This class provides tyers with an opportunity to increase their skills. Open to fly-tiers of all skill levels, the fly patterns change each month as a way to encourage learning various new tying techniques and development of tying skills.
Rigging tackle is one of the most important components of fly fishing. Learn how to create different tackle setups for fly fishing in a variety of situations. We will create dropper rigs, euro style nymphing rigs and much more. The course will also cover material selection, techniques and care. Ages 12 and up.
