Explore the lives of monarch butterflies and learn how you can help them and other pollinators in your own garden through demonstrations, resource materials, and a walk through a butterfly garden. If we are lucky, there will be adult monarchs to tag, in order to study and track their migration. Local volunteer Conservation Specialist with the Monarch Watch program, Joyce Pearsall, will discuss monarch migration and biology and the reasons we are concerned about their decreasing population. Program meets at the Guion Farm Parking Area in DuPont State Recreational Forest at 10:00 a.m. (3045 Sky Valley Road, Hendersonville, NC 28739). Limited to 20 participants and sign-up is required by calling Holmes Educational State Forest at 828-692-0100 or email holmesesf.ncfs@ncagr.gov.
