Performance Measure 2.1 Guidance for Forest Management Plans

While the Standards of Sustainability require landowners to comply with all relevant local, state and federal laws, regulations and ordinances, the Standards do not require forest management plans to address that compliance. Nevertheless, the N.C. Tree Farm Program encourages plan writers to include a statement in forest management plans that:

  • affirms landowner compliance with relevant laws, regulations and ordinances
  • advises the landowner to engage qualified natural resource professionals, contractors, licensed pesticide applicators and other trained professionals to support regulatory compliance.
