Conservation Easements

A conservation easement is a voluntary agreement between a landowner and a government agency or land trust to restrict certain kinds of real estate development or commercial and industrial activities on the landowner’s property. In return, the landowner gets tax and other economic benefits and the satisfaction of knowing that their property is protected for the time period of the agreement.
